YOUR PROJECT / A THOUGHTFUL START

Bring the right
starting point.

You don’t need a technical brief. A little context about the place, the people and the aim is enough to start a better conversation.

  1. 01

    Your place

Start with a town or postcode, the property type and whether you own or manage it. Note who can authorise changes. Describe the roof and any known condition issues. If you have photographs, mention them; take them safely from ground level and agree how to share them.

  2. 02

    Your energy picture

Include your annual electricity use if available, or a simple description of a normal day. Explain when the building is occupied and the larger electrical loads you want considered. An initial enquiry does not need bank details, electricity account numbers or passwords.

  3. 03

    Your aims and questions

Say what has prompted the enquiry: a new solar idea, storage, a renovation or an existing system question. Mention planned changes to the building or the way it is used. Prioritise the questions that would help you make the next decision.

  4. 04

    Your practical constraints

Explain any access limitations, planned roof works or operational requirements. If you have a preferred timeframe, call it provisional until availability is agreed. Raise tenancy, shared-roof or permission questions early so the relevant responsibilities can be clarified.

  5. 05

    What to ask before agreeing

Request a clear written scope, proposed equipment, forecast assumptions, exclusions and payment terms. Clarify who handles assessment, permissions, network arrangements, installation and handover. Ask how warranties and future support work, rather than assuming they are included.

READING A PROPOSAL

Know what’s
included. And why.

Compare complete proposals on the same basis. Equipment lists alone do not explain roof work, access, electrical work, controls or the assumptions behind performance estimates. If an item is unclear, ask for it to be explained before you agree.

Check that the company responsible for the work and the applicable qualifications, insurance, guarantees and complaint process are clear. Verify any claimed accreditation with its relevant register. Renewagreen’s specific project scope and terms are confirmed in direct correspondence.
